2. Try Apple Bobbing

Bobbing for apples is a Halloween tradition that goes all the way back to the 14th century when it actually started out as a tradition tied to love and romance. British women would bob for apples and try to bite one with the name of their male suitor. Getting the apple in one try meant the couple was fated for love. Since the tradition was brought to America by British descendants, it has become much different. Now it is simply tied to the fall harvest and is a playful game.

Want to bob for apples? Find out how to play this Halloween-centric game for the holiday:
1. Take out a Large tub for the game such as a metal bucket, bin or a large cooler.
2. Fill the tub over halfway to three-quarters full of cold water.
3. Add about a dozen apples to the tub of water, or an amount that will nearly fill the entire tub to make it challenging to bob for the apples.
4. Set a time of two minutes for each player to bite into an apple with their hands behind their back.
5. Whoever gets an apple in the quickest amount of time is the winner.

Spooky Rock Painting

5. Try Spooky Rock Painting

Add a new collection of creepy stones to your scary festival crafting collection! To bring Halloween rock art magic to life this Halloween, you will need the following art supplies:

– Handful of small round rocks
– Acrylic paints
– A painting Palette
– Some paint brushes
– A set of metallic paint markers
– A glass of clean water

Don’t forget to prepare the stone for work by washing it with warm soapy water and waiting for it to dry completely.

6. Re-use your Pumkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds make a great snack on their own, and they’re easy to add to many meals and recipes. Great ways to get pumpkin seeds’ small-but-mighty health boost in your diet include:
· Add them to smoothies
· Mix them into granola, yogurt, or cereal
· Use them to add some extra crunch to a salad
· Garnish any meal, like soups, chicken dishes, or pastas
· Blend them with other ingredients in a dip like hummus, pesto, or guacamole
· Bake them into cookies and breads
· Toast or roast them in any spice or seasoning for a healthy snack

How to Roast your Pumkin Seeds

To roast pumpkin seeds, separate them from the stringy guts and rinse well. Lay them out in a flat sheet to dry. Toss them with a little butter or olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and roast at 300 degrees until golden brown — about 45 minutes. You can also use those pumpkin seeds to make a tasty pumpkin seed pesto, or as a crunchy topper for guacamole or hummus.

Happy Halloween… Boo to you from everyone at One Stop!
